Briefly

Angel (AJ) Terán is an Agricultural Economist for the USDA Economic Research Service (ERS), Market and Trade Economics Division in the Animal Products and Cost of Production Branch. AJ specializes in outlook issues for the U.S. dairy industry. He is coauthor of the dairy section for the monthly Livestock, Dairy, and Poultry Outlook. AJ is an active participant on the Dairy Interagency Commodity Estimates Committee, which produces both short- and long-term projections for dairy commodities.

Background

AJ joined ERS in February 2021. Prior to working at ERS, AJ was a senior national and international Dairy Market Reporter for USDA Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS), Dairy Program Economic Division, Dairy Market News (DMN) for 6 years. During his tenure with DMN, he specialized in collecting, analyzing, and disseminating dairy market prices in the United States’ Southwest region and the Latin American region.
