Briefly
Christele Marsh serves as an agricultural economist in the Crops Branch of the Market and Trade Economics Division at USDA, Economic Research Service (ERS). Her primary responsibilities include feed grains market analysis and contributing to the monthly feed outlook reports as well as associated data products. She is a member of the interagency commodity estimates committee that develops projections for the monthly World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates (WASDE) report.
Background
Christele joined ERS in 2024. Prior to joining ERS, she worked in the private sector and has experience in the domestic and international feed grains, ethanol, rice, and cocoa industries. In her most recent position, she was a grain merchant with The Andersons Trade and Processing group. Prior to that, she had several different roles at Louis Dreyfus Commodities, including as analyst and commercial development manager for ethanol, and as cocoa trader and analyst.
Education
Christele earned both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in agricultural sciences from Ecole Supérieure d’Agriculture de Purpan (now known as Ecole d’ingénieurs de Purpan) in Toulouse, France. She also received a master’s degree in agricultural economics from Kansas State University as well as a master’s degree in teaching from the University of Central Missouri.
