Briefly
Jarrad Farris joined the Economic Research Service (ERS) in 2020 as a research agricultural economist with the International Trade and Development Branch of the Market and Trade Economics Division.
Background
Jarrad’s research interests include international agricultural technology adoption, supply responses, and trade, as well as changes in consumer demand, food security, and overall household wellbeing. Prior to joining ERS, Jarrad worked on agricultural household survey teams in Rwanda, Tanzania, and Uganda. He also served with the U.S. Peace Corps in Cameroon.
Education
Jarrad received a B.S. in Applied Economic Management and a M.S. in Agricultural and Applied Economics, both from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. He received a doctorate in Agricultural, Food, and Resource Economics from Michigan State University.
